The town itself was established in 1836, and plantations soon popped up along the Yazoo River. By the late 1880s, Grenada was home to Grenada College and a variety of businesses. During a short time in the 1960s, the town unexpectedly became central to the movement to advance the constitutional rights of African Americans. Buying vs. Rent to Own Homes?
Renting to own a home provides an easier pathway to homeownership for many house hunters who are uncertain about a conventional home purchase. With rent to own homes, there’s no need for an immediate down payment, and buyers don’t need a home loan until the rent-to-own contract period is complete. This one-to-three year process gives buyers time to save for a down payment and improve their credit ratings, all while living in the home and making monthly progress on the purchase. It also allows buyers to lock in current home prices, which is helpful in areas where home prices are increasing.
