Buying vs. Rent to Own Homes?
Traditionally, buying a home is fraught with stressful financial demands and negotiations. Renting to own a home is a hassle-free alternative to a conventional home purchase. With rent to own homes, buyers ease into the purchase, simply negotiating a contract with the home’s seller, making a small option fee payment and moving into the home. Then, each month, the buyer pays rent, a portion of which is credited to the home’s purchase price. This allows rent-to-owners to lock in today’s home price and make incremental progress toward homeownership. It’s not until the rent-to-own contract is complete, usually in one to three years, that the buyer needs to find a home loan.
