Buying vs. Rent to Own Homes?
Rent to own homes offer a flexible alternative for homebuyers who have less-than-stellar credit scores. When a buyer rents to own a home, the usual financial requirements like down payments and home loans aren’t needed until the end of the process. Since the rent-to-own process is negotiated to last one to three years, this gives buyers plenty of time to save a down payment and improve credit scores. In the interim, buyers move into the home and pay monthly rent. A portion of the rent payments contributes to paying down the purchase price. This is an advantage over conventional home purchases that require all of the money up front.
