Buying vs. Rent to Own Homes?
Renting to own a home in comfortable Shelbyville is a great way to achieve homeownership. This process offers four main advantages over a conventional home purchase. With a rent to own home, buyers can move into the home right away, instead of waiting for the title to clear and escrow to close. In addition, rent to own homes allow buyers to lock in today’s low home prices, even though the sale won’t be finalized until the one-to-three-year rent to own process is complete. Buyers also make monthly progress on their rental home purchase since a portion of each month’s rent is applied to the final purchase price. Finally, buyers have the duration of their rent-to-own contract to solidify their financial credit rating and build a larger down payment.
Shelbyville prides itself on its safe and comfortable neighborhoods, historic districts, community spirit and walkable, bikeable streets. Part of the city’s appeal is due to its convenient location a half-hour’s drive from Indianapolis; Cincinnati is a little more than an hour’s drive to the southeast. Getting around the region is made easier with several highways. Interstate 74 runs along the eastern side of town, and Highway 44 cuts through the center of Shelbyville. Interstate 65 is less than 12 miles from town, leading directly north to Indianapolis.
